Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars Ingredients

Here’s what you need to make this wonderful healthy peanut butter oat bars recipe:

  • Creamy Peanut Butter is the main ingredient for this no-bake dessert! It provides that wonderful peanut flavor as well as a good amount of protein.
  • Almond Flour is basically finely ground almonds. This flour helps to give the bars texture, without making them too dense (like using only oats would do). Almond flour is gluten-free and also low in carbs.
  • Ground Oats. Both rolled and quick oats will work because you will have to grind them in your blender or nut grinder. Oats will add fiber as well as the structure to the bars!
  • Roasted, Unsalted Peanuts. I wanted more texture and nice crunch in the bars, so I threw in some peanuts. They’re like a nice surprise in the otherwise smooth and creamy bars.
  • Dark Chocolate. I personally love the combo peanut butter and chocolate, specifically dark chocolate. So I melted some and covered the bars with it. Absolutely no regrets!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter, creamy
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup, pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup roasted, unsalted peanuts
  • 3 tbsp almond flour
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp oats, ground
  • 1 tsp coconut oil, melted
  • Pinch of salt

Chocolate topping

  • 1/3 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Mix the peanut butter with 2 tbsp of maple syrup in a bowl.
  2. Add the melted coconut oil and 1 tbsp of water to the mixture. Then add in the almond flour and ground oats and combine everything well.
  3. Once combined, add in the roasted, unsalted peanuts and mix again.
  4. Choose a small container, such as a meal prep container or Tupperware, and line it with parchment paper.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate. I use the microwave - just chop the chocolate, put it in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it up in 30s intervals. Usually it takes 2-3 intervals, make sure to mix with a fork every time to speed up the melting and to prevent burning the chocolate.
  7. Combine the melted chocolate with a little bit of peanut butter until smooth.
  8. Spread the melted chocolate over the peanut mixture and refrigerate for about an hour.
  9. Then, take out of the fridge and out of the container, slice into bars, and enjoy!
  10. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
