This is the best cherry ice cream smoothie! This healthy cherry smoothie is super refreshing, cold, delicious and tastes like ice cream, but there’s no actual ice cream inside – only 3 whole food ingredients.
Healthy ICE CREAM CHERRY Smoothie
Pitting and freezing all those cherries a few weeks ago is already worth it. This smoothie is the perfect summer snack. I’m now making it almost every day and there are just no words other than: You have to try it!
It’s sweet, it’s between ice cream and a shake and it’s super healthy too. Plus it takes 5 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
The best things are made with only few simple ingredients and this smoothie is no exception. There are 3 ingredients you need to make it:
- cherries
- 1/2 banana
- milk of choice
It is super important that you use frozen cherries to make this smoothie cold and ice-cream-like. I also find it very important to add enough milk, because 1) the mixture won’t blend and 2) it helps balance the sweet taste from the fruit.
How To Make This Cherry Ice Cream Smoothie
Making this smoothie is a bit trickier than most smoothies, because it doesn’t blend that fast, but if you have a good blender you should be okay.
All you need to do is add all ingredients to a blender or a hand blender cup and blend (duh!). I had to stop and shake the blender because the mixture was too thick and wouldn’t blend completely, but after two times everything was blended all the way through.
Please note that this recipe is for one smoothie, so if you want to make it for more people – add more ingredients.
I really hope you try this recipe, because it’s so delicious and so perfect for summer.

Healthy Cherry Ice Cream Smoothie
This cherry ice cream smoothie recipe is so good! With 3 ingredients and in 5 minutes you can enjoy this healthy summer smoothie that is super refreshing, cold, delicious and tastes like ice cream without any ice cream inside.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen cherries, pitted
- 1/2 banana, frozen
- 2/3 - 1 cup milk of choice
Instructions
- Put all ingredients to the blender or a hand blender and blend. If the mixture doesn't blend that well, stir the mixture and blend again. Repeat a few times if needed to blend all the way through.
- Another option would be to add more milk, but this would make the smoothie less like ice cream (still delicious!).
