Ingredients
Roasted pumpkin. No need to flavor it. Simply chop, roast and it will be ready. You can also simply use some pumpkin puree. If you’d like your smoothie colder (not me in October), I recommend either using some frozen chunks of roasted pumpkin or adding some ice cubes to the blender.
Milk. Dairy-free or dairy milk will all work, I recommend going for a creamier type of milk.
Cinnamon, vanilla and ginger. Or add any other of your favorite spices that go well with pumpkin (nutmeg…)
Almond butter. You’ll love the nutty taste that comes with this addition! It also helps to absorb the carotenoids from the pumpkin better.
How To Make Pumpkin Smoothie
It’s super simple! Just add everything to a blender and, you guessed right: blend!
It will become silky smooth and super creamy in no time!
Additions and Options
This smoothie almost tastes like dessert, even though I didn’t add any sugar to it. This however might depend on the pumpkin you use, so if you like your smoothie sweeter, simply add some maple syrup to the blender along with the other ingredients.
A Healthy Snack, Breakfast Or Dessert
You can have this smoothie as is or turn it into a little smoothie bowl for breakfast or dessert. Top with your favorite toppings – some fresh fruit, coconut shavings and chopped pecans or walnuts will be a great addition.
