I think of this simple healthy no-bake banana cream pie with oat crust at least once a week since I made it a few months ago. And how can I not? It’s perfect. Imagine a dessert with a nutty crumbly crust and a super creamy, perfectly sweet mascarpone filling, made in 15 minutes of work, with one banana and 2 tbsp of maple syrup for the entire thing. Creamy, lower in sugar, rich in fiber (thanks oat crust) and a great way to use up bananas – I think you understand why I called this recipe my everyday banana cream pie. You simply want and can have it every day.

Everyday Banana Cream Pie
The no-bake cheesecake and my tiramisu are THE desserts I make every year to celebrate someone’s birthday. Easy, delicious, but more indulgent. Save them for special occasions.
Now, I have a solution for every day. This healthy no-bake banana cream pie – it’s got an oat- and nut-based crust, a filling made with mascarpone and yogurt, and some banana for added sweetness. You can have it whenever you want something sweet.
Or when you don’t have time to cook. Breakfast – have a slice. Don’t feel like cooking for dinner – banana pie. Sometimes it can be lunch too.
The thing that makes this pie healthier than most is that we’re using less sugar (2 tbsp of maple syrup and a banana for the entire recipe) and adding more fiber and healthy fats thanks to those oats and nuts!

The recipe makes a small batch, but if you need to use up one or two bananas, this is the perfect way to do it without baking and being obvious (hello, banana bread).
Here’s what you need to make the pie.
Everyday Banana Cream Pie Ingredients
- banana
- oats
- pecans
- maple syrup
- water
- pinch of salt
- cinnamon
- yogurt
- mascarpone

How To Make Everyday Banana Cream Pie
To start off, you need to blend the ingredients for the oatmeal crust in a blender or a nut grinder. I usually blend the dry ingredients only and then mix in the wet ingredients with a fork directly in the blender cup. This seems to work well for my NutriBullet. If I add everything at once I have to stop multiple times to scrape things off the sides and the blades and it’s a bit trickier. Anyway, blend the oats, pecans, a pinch of salt and cinnamon – this will turn into flour, but a bit more crumbly.
Then add in the maple syrup and water. Mix until you get a crumbly dough, pretty much like for cookies. This is a great time to check whether or not you need something in the crust (like more sweetness, but remember the banana will add some too!)
Line a small baking pan (mine is 15cm/6″) with parchment paper, place the dough in the middle and start pressing it out with your hands to make the crust. Flatten it evenly and your first layer is done.
Cut the banana in circles and place it on top for the second layer of the no-bake pie.
For the third and final layer, we’ll add 3-4% fat unflavored yogurt, mascarpone and maple syrup to a bowl and mix them very well with a whisk or a fork. This will also exercise your arms, but keep up the good work and stay motivated until there are no lumps and everything is fluffy and nice.

Now add this on top of the bananas and spread evenly. If you wish to make the no-bake banana cream pie look a touch elevated you can sift or sprinkle some cinnamon over the last layer (like you’d do for tiramisu).
Now that you’ve got all layers done, place the pie in the fridge for at least an hour.

Release from the baking pan (usually grabbing on the sides of the parchment paper works best for me, but springform will be great!). Place onto a cutting board and slice into 6-8 pieces.
Enjoy!

More Options
Obviously, you can swap the fruit for whatever you like. But, keep to fruits that have low moisture content (tried with oranges, but those made the crust soggy). Berries, apples, pears, figs might work. Peaches? Probably.
If you want to make the crust nut-free, omit the pecans and add more butter or coconut oil (though I’m not sure whether coconut oil also triggers nut allergies – googled it, apparently it’s rare).
