For some, the word ‘feta’ brings up images of sun-drenched salads with juicy tomatoes topped with cheese on the Greek coast. Well, if you can’t get there, making some of these simple feta recipes is an easy way to travel around the globe. So get the Mediterranean spirit into your everyday life by adding a few of these quick meals with feta cheese to your weekly meal plan.
In case you’re not familiar, feta is a crumbly salty Greek cheese that is traditionally made with sheep and goat’s milk by the Greek Gods. Not sure about that last part, but it sure tastes like they made it. Once the cheese is ready, it is left to age in brine for around two months. After that, it is preserved in the same salty liquid and that liquid makes feta’s qualities last longer.
Feta cheese is without a doubt a delicious addition to salads, but it has even more to offer. For example, feta is also pretty nutritious and has a high calcium content, beneficial bacteria that support the fermentation process and it is also rich in healthy fatty acids.
Now if you’ve bought a huge block of feta cheese and don’t know what to do with it, here are 15 quick, DELICIOUS and easy feta recipes that are also pretty healthy and perfect for summer or any time of the year really.
